TrueCookPlus Countertop Microwave - 6633 While, yes, all things will eventually fail, my grandma's microwave that could very easily be from the early 70s or late 60s, still works fine (the door hinges at the bottom like an oven, even!). Things are now apparently designed to fail, but my 6633 failed in just over a year of irregular use (I rarely cook anything for longer than a minute, most of the time when it's used, it's used to reheat things for 35 - 45 seconds). My parents bought one because of the high power and gave me one, too. Oh sure, a free microwave to replace my old one which I then gave away. The first thing I dislike about it is that it has a large footprint-- I couldn't put it on the small piece of counter between my oven and fridge where i'd had my old one. Bigger microwave? Well, maybe sort of, it's very low so some things I could put in my old microwave don't fit. It's rare that that's an issue, but I never had an issue with anything hitting the sides of my old one, either, so it's just trading off... TrueCookPlus Countertop Microwave - 6633 This microwave has all the bells and whistles and is a good size...only problem, it is doomed for failure. I bought this model in July, 2011. 3 months later, it quit working. It simply would not start. All the key pads were dead. I figured that I must have gotten a dud....I did like the microwave, so, I purchased a second one (same model) in Oct. 2011. Here it is Dec. 2011, and the second one is broken.I've used microwaves all my life and have never had a worse experience with a product. I don't know how they make it, but they must use the cheapest components around. You couldn't pay me to purchase another Kenmore microwave. 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful ![]() By Bruce (Caliifornia) - See all my reviews This review is from: Kenmore 1.2 cu. ft. TrueCookPlus Countertop Microwave - 6633 After reading the good reviews of the Kenmore microwave model 6633, I decided to take the plunge and visited my local Sears store. At home I set the clock and got ready for my first meal but after 2 and a half minutes at 100% power, the package was still refrigerator cold. After several more attempts, I gave up and am taking the useless appliance back to Sears for a refund. |
